Hawa Ahmed
Look, Listen and Feel
By Andrew Rudder for www.pulpmag.net - andrew@pulpmag.net
Look ...
Look as far as the eye can see throughout the vast plains
of northeastern Africa,
Look from the majestic highlands of the prodigious Mount
Kenya,
Look from the coast on the Indian Ocean across the Low plains
... up toward the central highlands as far west as Ethiopia,
And you won’t see a more stunningly sublime winsome
woman as the gracious Hawa,
Listen...
Listen as far as the ears can hear beyond the Gulf of Aden
within the Somali peninsula,
Listen to the whispers along the longest coastline on the
continent moving faster than a sprinting, outstretched African
cheetah,
Listen to the whispers sweeping across the continent growing
into a resounding roar faster than the seasonal monsoon winds
of Somalia,
And you will hear the trumpeting uproar of a beautiful angel
from the Horn of Africa,
Feel ...
Feel as far as the heart can be touched within Northern Europe
in a new era,
Feel the pulsating pulse of the Scandinavian peninsula,
Feel the palpitating heart of Sweden pump affection for a
newly crowned jewel,
And you will perceive why her compatriots voted her Sweden’s
Next Top Model,
Look, listen and feel,
Because perceiving the prepossessing pulchritude of Hawa
that seems so surreal,
Elicits all of your aesthetic senses with unwavering zeal,
Look ... listen ... feel ...
Because the appeal of her wondrous winsomeness is for real,
Transcend beyond the mere aesthetic pleasure of your senses
into the windows of her soul to reveal,
A zest for life that is too strong to conceal,
A zest for life ... too strong ... to conceal ...
Hawa Ahmed Interview
Rogue Angels Interview
By Andrew Rudder for Pulp Magazine - www.pulpmag.net - andrew@pulpmag.net
Andrew: It's with great pleasure that I introduce to you a thought
provoking, professional model from the Scandinavian peninsula
in Northern Europe named Hawa Ahmed, who has made some
serious inroads into the European modeling industry after
winning Sweden’s Next Top Model. Born in Somalia
and raised in Kenya for a few years in the Horn of Africa
before moving to Sweden at the tender age of seven, Hawa
has truly come along away. Ever since that eventful and unforgettable
day in her life when she won Sweden’s Next Top Model,
she has been making the most of the many opportunities that
have been presented to her, and is currently working hard
to push her promising modeling career progressively forward,
while leaving her indelible footprints in the sands of time, “I’ve
just started my career with Swedish Next Top Model ... Winning
Sweden’s Next Top Model was the best thing that could
happen. It gave me lots of possibilities.” As Hawa’s
work takes her throughout the continent of Europe from Stockholm,
London and Berlin to Madrid, Paris and Rome, one of the opportunities
that Hawa has been taking advantage of is traveling, “I’m
trying to do what I love in life ... one of my passions and
interests is traveling. I try to travel as much as I can.
And as a model I can combine business with pleasure!
... Life is short and to live it is very important.”
Hawa
is a sincere, sweet and whimsical young woman with a depth
of feeling and humility about her that is rare amongst
high-end top models, which is always manifested with superb
clarity in her polished and refined elegant photographs.
She is a natural at what she does in her profession that
it is hard to imagine her doing anything else, but when I
asked her what else besides modeling she would be interested
in, Hawa exuberantly replied, “ Maybe an actor?! I’ve
tried it one time and it fits me a little. If I study it
a little bit more I think I can be good at it! ... I want
do work as a model as long as I can! And after that maybe
I´ll settle down and have a family or I´ll start
acting! Who knows!!”
Hawa has taken the time out of her very busy schedule to
do this interview with yours truly and I appreciate that
... So on behalf of the Pulp Magazine family whom work extremely
hard to bring our loyal readers the very best in informative
and entertaining content, I'm very delighted to have you
Hawa and I'm very excited to interview you! I hope that this
interview will be the first of many with us and other magazines
during your truly illustrious career. So without further
adieu let us get this interview started!
Hawa: Hi Andrew.
Andrew: No great journey toward our desired destination
in life is accomplished solely by ourselves, so talk a bit
about the people in your life who have and continue to support
you throughout your illustrious career, and as you continue
to make your indelible mark on the sands of time.
Hawa: Okay. The most important people in my life are my sister
and those who I live with! They have supported me in what
I choose to do and what road I choose to take.
And it feels so important to surround yourself with people
like that. I don’t think I would make it without them.
Andrew: How and why did you get into the entertainment industry
and what is it about it that captivates your mind and stimulates
your creative imagination.
Hawa: I have always wanted to work as a model since I was
a small girl. I had idols like Iman, Tyra and Waris Dirie.
And when I had the chance to join competitions I joined them.
It was very fun. And I got more experience at the contests.
Andrew: Being convinced to pursue a career in modeling is
one thing, but actually believing that you possess the requisite
talent, focus and drive to succeed in a very tough, unforgiving
business is quite another. When did you actually believe
that you possessed the requisite intangible qualities and
characteristics to make it in the entertainment industry
as a model?
Hawa: I believe that if you really want something, the only
thing that can stop you is yourself. The industry is tough
but you have to believe in yourself and be stubborn.
Andrew: What experience do you value more and attain more
personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process
behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer,
make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from
your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the
finished product?
Hawa: I believe both. Working with pro make-up artist photographers,
and designers is so inspiring. And that’s really what
my goal is. And showing my family and friends that I can
reach my goal if I just follow my dreams is an extra plus.
Andrew: Wayne W. Dyer is quoted as saying, “When you
dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the
floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.” As
you dance your way through the entertainment industry, what
has been some of the steps that you enjoyed along the way
thus far?
Hawa: To be honest I have enjoyed every single step of the way
and I still do!! Every job I get is not like any job before
or the one before that. It’s new each time and
that’s what I love about it.
Andrew: You have one of the most prepossessing physiques
Hawa that I've seen that evokes a sensuality that is stunningly
sublime, and is always accentuated by your artistic poses
within your prepossessing photographs, so I'm curious to
know what does your diet and exercise regimen consist of?
Hawa: I work out about three times a week and I try to eat healthy
food. I love yoga too. It’s so good for both
body and soul. So when you have a stressful job or are just
stressed yoga is the perfect exercise.
Andrew: Why do you think that some models enter the entertainment
industry, attain their 15 minutes of fame and than vanish
without a trace, but others such as world renowned models
like Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Kimora Lee, and
lesser known models such as Kim Loan and Dawn Rochelle are
capable of transforming their early success as a model into
a long lasting, successful career within the entertainment
industry as business women?
Hawa: I think that when models attend their first job or
two they realize that modeling is not so easy. I did that
to. But then you have to think. Do I want to continue? Can
I handle this? Both emotional and physical? Is this what
want to do?
Andrew: What advice would give to other aspiring models
from Africa who look up to you as role model and who want
to attain success within the European modeling industry?
Hawa: I would say to them to follow your dreams and don’t
give in!!
Andrew: Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what
you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or
do you have a ‘by any means necessary I will get
mine in the 21st century’ attitude?
Hawa: Of course I have limits. But I have in my mind that
this is a business. Sometimes it happens when I have to prolong
my limits.
Andrew: My no limit credit card slips out of my pocket and
magically appears in your hands as I finish this interview
with you; what do you buy before I find out that it's missing?!!!
[I know in real life you would have returned my card!]
Hawa: I wouldn’t buy anything!! Really!!
Andrew: What sort of qualities in a man do you look for and
really turn you on?
Hawa: Charm and a sense of humor is the most important.
Andrew: What is your favorite food?
Hawa: I love Italian and lasagna.
Andrew: Name one of your addictions? (Something that you
can't do without)
Hawa: I have to say lip gloss.
Andrew: What is your favorite word to cuss with when your
really upset?
Hawa: I don’t really know! Many bad words maybe!?
Andrew: What is your favorite part of the female and male
anatomy?
Hawa: I love the eyes!
Andrew: If you were a super heroine what super powers would
you want: super speed, super strength, X-ray vision, invisibility,
the ability to read minds or the ability to fly?!
Hawa: I would want X-ray vision, invisibility and the ability
to fly!
Andrew: What is your favorite column or feature in Pulp Magazine?
Hawa: Have to say Rogue Angels MEN.
Andrew: What does sex appeal and beauty mean to you? Is it
a state of mind and attitude (mental/intellectual), physical
perfection as defined by society, or being born with the
right set of physical attributes that get the teenage boys'
hormones into a frenzy?
Hawa: It is a state of mind and attitude.
Andrew: What is beautiful about yourself?
Hawa: I believe I have a beautiful personality! And I have
to say my eyes and smile.
Andrew: If you had to change one thing about yourself what
would it be?
Hawa: I am very comfortable with myself and I have to really
say that I would change anything. It wouldn’t be me
if I changed something.
Andrew: For all of the people, photographers, agencies and
companies seeing you for the first time who will want to
gain more information about you, tell them where they can
go to see and read about some of your past, present and future
projects?
Hawa: You can read some of the things I have worked with
in Make up store Magazine. Cant really say what I will work
on in the future. Right now I am working with a project that
is a secret. I will tell you all about it in a near future.
It so exiting.
Andrew: William Faulkner is quoted as saying, "The aim
of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial
means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when
a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life.
Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him
is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it
will always move." When your profoundly beautiful pictures
move again in the mind's eye of people a hundred years later
Hawa, what do you think they'll say?
Hawa: I hope they will say that Hawa had a very strong personality,
with very much positive energy and had a big influence on
mostly everyone.
Andrew: Thank you Hawa for doing this interview with Pulp
Magazine and I! We wish you all of the best in your future
endeavors, look forward to hearing about your success in
the media as a professional fashion model, and we would love
to have you back anytime!
Hawa: Thank you for doing this interview with me and we talk
again I hope in the near future!! Take care. |
