Ingrid Castro Bio:

Known to many as Castro, I am half Colombian and Cuban and 19 years old to sum up the basics. I was born and raised in the heart of Toronto. My background is ½ Columbian ½ Cuban. I currently live with my mother and my dog. I am taking online courses to keep my head in school and plan to attend University in the fall to take Criminology and Forensics. My ultimate long term goal is to one day work for the CIA for FBI once I have gained extensive skills and experience within the field.

I have been modeling now for just about a year and I enjoy it very much. I schedule various photo shoots with many photographers in an attempt to expand my portfolio and gain as much experience as possible. Also, I have done tradeshows such as the Everything to do with Sex Show and Import fest just to name a couple. I have also done many fashion shows and have been a featured model on a number of websites. I also have an extensive resume of promotional modeling as well. I have done a Ms. Triumph promo, LG Promo, RSVP by Kenneth Cole promo, Budweiser promo for the super bowl and many more. I also appeared on the Grill Room for Sun TV, a Coca Cola Commercial and did the Alternative Fashion Week in Toronto also known as F.A.T.

I enjoy modeling but more importantly I enjoy life to the fullest. It is in my belief that it is nice to be pretty but one day your looks will no longer be enough and if you don’t have the brains to back up the beauty, you’ll pretty much be have nothing to fall back on. So although I enjoy modeling I also know that I have a code of ethics and morals that I follow.

Andrew: It's with great pleasure that I introduce to you an aesthetically alluring angel who is a thoughtful professional model named Ingrid Castro. She has taken the time out of her very busy career to do this interview with yours truly and I appreciate that. On behalf of the Pulp Magazine family whom work extremely hard to bring our loyal readers the very best in informative and entertaining content, I'm very delighted to have you Ingrid and I'm very excited to interview you! I hope that this interview will be the first of many with us and other magazines during your truly illustrious career. So without further adieu let us get this interview started!

Ingrid: Thank you for having me, I feel extremely honored to be able to be interviewed by such a prestigious magazine. I too also hope for this to be one of many interviews with your company. It is with great pleasure that I am in this position today to answer your interview questions.

Andrew: How and why did you get into modeling, and what is it about it that captivates your mind and stimulates your creative imagination to no end?

Ingrid: Well as a child I actually did fashion shows and was in a dance group also. I also did a public service announcement as a child and I never really thought much about it until March of last year. I was going through a rough time I realized many things after taking a trip to Miami. I was really inspired and motivated to do something with myself because I felt that I had failed in many other aspects so upon landing back in Toronto I decided to make a change for the better and rid myself of negative vibes in my life. I decided to take up modeling after much support from people around me and it just took off from there.

Andrew: Did you always know that you wanted to pursue a professional career in modeling from the time you were a little girl?

Ingrid: I never really sat down and thought about modeling as a profession or long term career, I knew I some day wanted to be known to many people but did not know how. I did at a young age have interest in modeling especially after attending an open casting for Ford models of over 800 people and being one of the chosen 150. I was not able to purse that any further though because it required me to travel to New York for an extended amount of time and my mom would not sign the papers unfortunately.

Andrew: What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product?

Ingrid: I really and truly value both because of course the time of the photographer and makeup artist is very valuable and their talent is often immeasurable. At the same time though I really respect and value the opinions and reactions of people whom are close to me and people who are not because they are the ones who often inspire me and give me positive criticism and feedback.

Andrew: You have a prepossessing physique so I’m sure a lot of envious woman want to know what your workout regime is?

Ingrid: <Laughs> Workout regime, I don’t think I have ever had one in my life. The last time I went to the gym and I swear this on my life was a year ago and I actually watched a friend workout while I ate. I think the only thing that keeps me fit is walking my dog chubby, 3 times a day for about 20 minutes. He is a handful and trust me that’s a workout all on its own.

Andrew: What is your Muse or genuine source of inspiration when you model?

Ingrid: My source of inspiration would probably have to be that fact that I have overcome many obstacles in life and although some were hard I am here and why not make the most of it while I can.

Andrew: Why do you think that some models enter the entertainment industry, attain their 15 minutes of fame and than vanish without a trace, but others such as world renowned models like Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Kimora Lee, and lesser known models such as Kim Loan and Dawn Rochelle are capable of transforming their early success as a model into a long lasting, successful career within the entertainment industry as business women?

Ingrid: I think that some models enter the industry without anything to fall back onto many have the mentality that it will be an everlasting career. Often many do not think for the long run or think strategically how to plan their next big move to keep them within the limelight and keep them successful. Models such as Cindy Crawford have plans and have the beauty as well as the brains to help keep them maintained and elevated within the industry so that they do no fade away.

Andrew: Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or do you have a ‘by any means necessary I will get mine in the 21st century’ attitude?

Ingrid: I actually do have an extensive number of limitations and it’s not because I am a picky model but I do have pride and morals as well as beliefs. I have actually been labeled by some photographers as the no-less-than-a-bathing suit-girl. Although I am open minded to many shoots and such because it is always great to expand your horizons it has to be done in a tasteful and elegant manner. I would take into consideration doing an implied but not anything that everything is seen or bottomless. That’s a no no. I do have the ambition of by any means necessary but I do not live by it because there are always situations that that mentality isn’t the greatest one to have.

Andrew: Do you think that the emerging online communication networks out there such as myspace.com, onemodelplace.com, and modelmayhem.com have enabled entrepreneurial minded models and actresses such as yourself to effectively market yourself and as a result replace agencies?

Ingrid: I think that online communication is amazing now a days, it may even ultimately put smaller agencies out of business because of the fact that work available on those sites are the same that agencies refer you to. At the same time though it comes with limitations because there are people out there they are not legitimate and often models mistaken them for someone who is.

Andrew: If I was accompanying you to a photo shoot or audition that is 700 km away from home, what albums would I definitely be listening to in the car on the long trip there?

Ingrid: I love and admire Jennifer Lopez so for sure that, Ludacris also because he is just amazing, some Shyne and then a mix of reggeaton and Nelly Furtado. It would be a pretty crazy trip with a variety of music.

Andrew: My no limit credit card slips out of my pocket and magically appears in your hands as I finish this interview with you; what do you buy before I find out that it's missing?!!! [I know in real life you would have returned my card!]

Ingrid: I would go crazy!. Well I am responsible so of course I would pay my many bills. Then I would buy a car, shop till I could not possible walk anymore and then I would probably go for dinner at the CN Tower.

Andrew: What is your ideal exotic getaway?

Ingrid: SAN TROPEZ I would give the world and my arm to go there and if I have the opportunity to shoot there it would be amazing. Its absolutely stunning there.

Andrew: What sort of qualities in a man do you look for?

Ingrid: Simple but hard to find qualities. Someone intellectual, funny, sweet, goal oriented, motivated and much more.

Andrew: What is your favorite food?

Ingrid: Way too many to name. I really like chicken wings though.

Andrew: Name one of your addictions? (Something that you can't do without)

Ingrid: I can not got without my cellphone ( trust me I’ve tried ) it is a daily essential for me.

Andrew: What is your favorite word to cuss with when your really upset?

Ingrid: M*uThErf*ckEr. I try my best not to say it though because you never know who’s around.

Andrew: If you were a super heroine what super powers would you want: super speed, super strength, X-ray vision, invisibility, the ability to fly or the ability to read minds?!

Ingrid: That’s a lot to choose from, and I take it I cant choose all of them. I would have to choose super speed because I always feel like I don’t have enough time to myself to relax but with super speed I would probably get stuff that takes me a week done in about a day so for sure that would be a definite positive for me.

Andrew: What is your favorite column or feature in Pulp Magazine?

Ingrid: The fashion section – I was on it before for Adjua-A slice of fashion and I think its great just because it gives Canadian designers a chance to shine and have their work seen. Not many magazines especially Canadian ones acknowledge their own homegrown upcoming designers but instead feature ones from other countries. I love it because if I see a piece of clothing I like I know if I wanted to I am able to easily purchase it because the designer is from Canada and not halfway around the Globe where I have to track down if I am able to get the item I like. All the articles in the fashion section are things that are accesable within Toronto or even Canada which is really good.

Andrew: What is beautiful about yourself?

Ingrid: I think I obtain more inner beauty that I do outer but what most people see is the outer. What is beautiful about me is that I always try to see the best of everything and not really focus on the negativities of either a situation or a person.

Andrew: If you had to change one thing about yourself what would it be?

Ingrid: I think I would change my eating habits, it is really bad and it may not show not because of my metabolism but in a few years it sure will catch up to me.

Andrew: William Faulkner is quoted as saying, "The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move." When your profoundly beautiful body of works move again in the mind's eye of people a hundred years later Ingrid, what do you think they'll say?

Ingrid: They will probably admire it for what it is and hopefully it is soethingthat is a timeless classic as oppose to a fashion trend where they’ll say “ what the hell was she thinking?”

Andrew: For all of the people, directors, writers, producers, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future projects?

Ingrid: I have myspace it is WWW.MYSPACE.COM/CASTRO416 i update it regularly and it has the most concurrent information and upcoming projects as well as a lot of information , pictures and soon videos. I can also be contacted through email CASTRO_INGRID@hotmail.com.

Andrew: Are there any other exciting projects that you will be working on that you want to tell our readers about and/or anyone that you want to thank?

Ingrid: Well I am always coming up with different idea of how to get myself out there and market myself. I will be appearing other places as well and hopefully be launching a website sometime soon but for the meantime my myspace is the main source of information on me.

Andrew: Thank you Ingrid for doing this interview with Pulp Magazine and I! We wish you all of the best in your future endeavors, look forward to hearing about your success in the media as a model, and we would love to have you back anytime!

Ingrid: Thank you so much for your time, kindness and for the great opportunity. Besos XOXO
